Aurigny favourite “Junior Joey” will be touching down to join this year’s Jersey International Motoring Festival.

The Trislander cockpit, a hugely popular children’s attraction, is making the special appearance as part of the airline’s 50th Anniversary Celebrations. Visitors, old and young, will be able to climb inside the cockpit, play with the controls and take their photo beside the genuine Trislander aircraft.

Aurigny is one of Britain’s oldest airlines still in operation and operated its first ever flight all the way back on 1st March 1968. From these humble beginnings, the airline has grown its passenger numbers and route network considerably over the decades, providing vital lifeline links in the Channel Islands.

Aurigny is also an award-winning airline, having been named best short-haul airline by Which? Magazine and coming third in the Daily Telegraph Travel Awards.

Currently, Aurigny operates 11 routes, connecting Guernsey to the UK and France and providing a lifeline service for Alderney. It is holding a series of events and activities to mark its 50th birthday this year.
