Morgan Motor Company is a family-owned manufacturer that hand-builds iconic British sports cars, famous the world over for their unique blend of craft, heritage and pure driving experience.

The Morgan Motor Company Ltd was established in 1909 by H.F.S Morgan with the design of the Morgan Three-Wheeler. This was followed in 1936 by the Morgan 4-4 (4 wheels – 4 cylinders), which continues to be produced today, and is the longest running production car in the world.

The ethos at Morgan has remained unchanged for over 100 years; from research and design, to paint (a choice of 40,000 colours!) and trim (around 50 colours/types), every Morgan is coach built for the customer at Morgan’s Pickersleigh Road factory at the foot of the Malvern Hills.
Morgan cars have been built there since 1914. The staggered floor layout sends each car down the natural slope of the hill as it passes each stage of the manufacturing process.

Every Morgan is expertly crafted using three core elements: ash, aluminium and leather. Each Morgan is truly unique, hand-built to the highest standard by passionate craftspeople, who perfect their skill over a lifetime to bring together heritage, innovation and cutting-edge technology.

Whether it be the lively Classic Range Sports Car, the extravagant high performance Aero supercar or the truly unique and characterful Morgan 3-Wheeler, every last detail is tailored to the customer’s specification, creating a truly bespoke Morgan.

The evolution of the Morgan model-range has taken the marque into the 21st Century, and today Morgan builds just 850 cars per year. The Aero 8 was launched in 2000, and continual evolution of the Aero Range has seen the 8 joined by the dramatic Aeromax, Aero Supersports and Aero Coupé. In 2015 the Company launched the latest Aero 8, complete with a strengthened chassis and newly designed body.

In 2011, after an absence of over 50 years, Morgan re-introduced the Morgan 3-Wheeler, a modern interpretation of H.F.S. Morgan’s classic design. Morgan’s first production electric vehicle, the EV3, was launched at the Geneva Motor Show in 2016, based on the popular 3-Wheeler.

The Morgan Classic Range continues to be the most popular model within the Morgan range – with models including the 4/4, the Plus 4, the Roadster and the Plus 8, which is an exhilarating cross-over between the Classic and Aero Ranges. A 50th Anniversary Limited Edition of the Plus 8 was launched at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2018.

There is a Visitor Centre and Museum at the Pickersleigh Road factory, featuring exhibits about the Company’s history from Edwardian times until the present day, developments in automobile technology, and a display of cars. There are also daily guided tours of the factory.

The Morgan Sports Car Club (MSCC), formed in 1951 is for enthusiasts of Morgan cars. There are nearly 5000 members worldwide, with a network of more than 35 local Centres in UK, and 47 affiliated Clubs in other countries.

SpotMog is the Gloucestershire Centre of the MSCC, formed in 1987, which today, 31 years later has around 150 members.

Twenty members of SpotMog (two of whom are Tour Guides at the Morgan factory) are visiting Jersey this weekend with their 10 cars , joined in the Cavalcade by members of the Channel Island Centre of the MSCC (ChanMog) and other local Morgan owners.
